My god I'm really sorry for what happened, Guinevere. I can only imagine what it must feel like to have someone tamper with a personal 'treasure' which your account is.

Anet should be doing everything in their power to restore the account if they want to prove that they remotely care, and aren't the money-grabbers they appear to be these days.

Not a lot to say on the matter except, good luck and you have my sympathy.

note that the following is just my opinions and facts, im not trying to flame or be evil!

as much as id like to see Guin get her character restored i understand Anet's non restore policy
i dont know how Guin got the account jacked so i cant comment on that
BUT if Guin is so paranoid as stated, it has to be a lack in security at Anet
and afaik they prolly know exactly who did it and how
cause if they have no logs of what ip does what on both the gameserver and the plaync servers then im realy scared
i got 8000+ hours on my account and alot of time invested
i know some ppl think "get a life" , sure its a game, but its a part of my life
i have made many good freinds on here and enjoyed my time on here
i know i couldnt just start over if this happened to me
and IF this would ever happen to me, i would demand that legal action would be taken against the ppl that did this, im not saying PlayNC or Anet, but the person that is logged in the system with IP and so on.

to get to the point tho is that idk how or what happened to Guin.
altho i understand the no restore policy due to the fact that alot of ppl go to cheat/hack sites to get a bot or whatever, get a keylogger on the system and end up getting the account jacked , and imo those tho most def not deserve their chars restored, much less then account back, im not saying this is what happened in this case, as i said im just offerring my opinion and facts , altho due to many attacks on my system at home and my server with TS and such getting hacked a few months ago (legal action was taken against this person and he is now blacklisted on ISP's in sweden) , i recommend EVERYONE doesnt matter how secure u think u are to think again, and get urself a GOOD virusscanner that blocks codeexecution like trojans and such, its worth the money in the long run.

got "hacked"? maybe...

1) You downloaded a third party program laced with backdoor
2) People knew the email address that you used logging in and brute forced your password
3) or you trusted someone with your account.

if 1 and 2 dont apply, you got hacked because of #3.
